The idea
Small dealers either pay for an expensive website on top of Auto Trader, or make do with a Facebook page. CarDealerCMS gives them a proper website of their own, with their own domain, for one flat monthly price — and does the boring work for them.
What we built
- Add a car by typing the number plate — the DVLA fills in the details and AI writes the description
- MOT dates, tax and full MOT history checked automatically and kept up to date
- New cars posted to the dealer's Facebook page and Google Business Profile automatically
- Walkround videos filmed on the dealer's phone straight onto the car page
- Stock feeds for Cazoo, Facebook and eBay, invoices, a stock book and part-exchange forms
- Every car also appears on Local Car Sales at no extra cost
A real dealer: JLJ Autos, Preston
JLJ Autos runs on CarDealerCMS at jljautos.co.uk. Their site ranks near the top of Google for their own name, brings them around 90 visits a week, and their cars go out to Facebook, Google and Local Car Sales without anyone typing them twice. This month we set up a stock feed so their cars can go to Cazoo straight from their website — one place to update, everywhere at once.
The marketing
CarDealerCMS sells itself through Local Car Sales: every dealer we list sees their cars working for them, and the step up to their own website is one click away. When people ask ChatGPT to compare dealer website software, it puts CarDealerCMS at the top of its shortlist once it reads our pages — see how we did that.
